a single drop of glory

What if a pearl tucked in

the scalloped wing of an angel,

powder white, was seen plain

through tears; as so many grains of sand,

stored up for a better day when God

might need something solid—

to crush grapes, release thunder

or cause a child to stop

and wonder—
