giving notice


he never let her know his needs

only gave and gave

until he could give no more

and then

it was her who let him know her needs

(so many needs)

but now

no one—not he or she—can hear anymore

about needs

The verse that comes to mind is, “The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit… with deep compassion I will bring  you back.” (Isaiah 54:6-7)
